Originally from Minnesota, Lawson is a growing filmmaker studying film and business at Loyola University Chicago. Lawson's passion lies in generating and amplifying empathy and collaboration in all of his work, academically, creatively, and professionally.
Lawson's focus in film revolves predominately around queer film and producing. He intends to synthesize his skills developed in his studies to support the development of creative project, and amplify the voices of queer filmmakers.
Currently, Lawson is producing the largest-scale short film at Loyola University Chicago, ever, titled Jack-O'-Jungle Juice. Directed by Paige Lynn and written by Megan Bradley, the film observes two queer women in a failing relationship at their first-ever frat party that unfortunately spirals into a frat-boy zombie apocalypse. JOJJ completed production on November 23rd, and will begin post-production in January 2026.
