Jack-O'-Jungle Juice

Project type

Short Film

Date

March 2025 - April 2026

Location

Chicago, IL

Producer

As the Producer, I coordinated all preproduction, crowdfunding, budgeting, crew building and development, and production scheduling and specifics hand in hand with my Director.

Jack-O'-Jungle Juice follows two queer girls, Max and Lexi, as they attend their first-ever frat party on Halloween. As tensions and issues in their relationship surface, a frat-boy zombie apocalypse erupts. At its heart, the film explores changing relationships, shifting environments, and the pursuit of survival in a chaotic zombie apocalypse.

Our primary objective was to produce a large-scale short film that simulated a completely professional environment, and we did. This is the most ambitious film made under Loyola’s name, ever. Our crew consists of over twenty Loyola students and graduates, and our cast has four principal characters, as well as twenty extras. Coordinating this scale of production was a massive responsibility and commitment that required extensive time and preparation.

My Director and I pitched it to a Film Committee in April, in which we were then voted on and approved to have this project. We then began preproduction, from May until mid-November, and production took place from November 21st to 23rd. Now, from January until April, we are undergoing post-production, where I, and my Director, are serving as the post-production supervisors.

This project has been an immense challenge, but such a great success. We crowdfunded a total of $6,600 and received a grant of $1,500 from the School of Communication at Loyola, making our entire budget $8,100.
